Stewardship

26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Genesis 1:26-28 (ESV)

We own nothing!! We are stewards of God’s stuff. Our stuff is God’s. Our children, our spouses, our money, our houses, our health, and our relatives is God’s. Imagine how free we will become if give up control and trust God to rule our lives. This hard to do in the United States. The American dream is owning your own house in safe environment with a lot stuff. We are deluded if we think we are in control of anything.

Look at Holy Spirit filled people giving up their stuff to advance the Kingdom of God. Their were no one poor among them. They selling the possessions, their land and giving the money to the Apostles to distribute among widows and the poor. Our responsibility to make the earth more beautiful, advance the kingdom of God by making disciples of Jesus Christ. And by repenting from our sins, forgiving people, treating people with kindness and gentleness. And to love everyone we meet.

[42] And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. [43] And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. [44] And all who believed were together and had all things in common. [45] And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. [46] And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, [47] praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
(Acts 2:42-47 ESV)
