The Power of God

20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22 Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.

1 Cor 1:20-25 (NIV)

After Messiah’s resurrection Judaism ceased be the way to God.  The Church is now the only way to God.  The Church I am talking about is the one who exalts Christ as the God/Man who went to cross to get rid of our sins and give us an eternal amount of Messiah’s righteousness.  This is what the Jews stumble over and the Greeks thought was foolishness.  However, the redeemed know the power of God the Holy Spirit that gave us new life full of joy, peace, and contentment.   The gentiles think the cross and the substitutionary sacrifice for us is foolishness.

Messiah was the sacrificial lamb to take away the sins of his people and he gave them his righteousness at the same time.  Trusting Jesus ends God’s hatred of you because of your forgiven of all your sins and he gave us his righteousness.  Therefore, when God looks at us we look like his Son Jesus Christ.  It like a teacher giving you an A+ although you actually got an F.  The teacher however, gives you an A+ forever so when you graduate with a perfect 4:0.
