People Choose Hell

Jesus was the person that talked more about hell than all the other people who wrote the Bible put together.

If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw is away.  It is better for you to lose one part of body than for your whole body to be thrown into Hell.  And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away.  It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into Hell.   Matthew 5:29-30

Do not be afraid of those who can kill the body but cannot kill the soul.  Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in Hell.  Matthew 10:28

And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away.   It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of Hell.  Matthew 18:9

Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!  You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces.  You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter are trying to.   Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of the as you are.  Matthew 23:13-15

You snakes!  You brood of vipers!  How will you escape being condemned to Hell?  Matthew 23:33

Luke 16:19-30 The Rich Man and Lazarus

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to Hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment;      2 Peter 2:4

The people who go to hell choose to go to hell.  The people who go to Hell deny the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and other people who have no room for him in their lives.

C. S. Lewis once wrote:

Hell begins with a grumbling mood, always complaining, always blaming others . . . but you are still distinct from it. You may even criticize it in yourself and wish you could stop it. But there may come a day when you can no longer. Then there will be no you left to criticize the mood or even to enjoy it, but just the grumble itself, going on forever like a machine. It is not a question of God ‘sending us’ to hell. In each of us there is something growing, which will BE Hell unless it is nipped in the bud.

Apart from Christ, people die the way they live. Rev. 22:11 resigns people to this, “Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and let the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous still practice righteousness; and let the one who is holy, still keep himself holy.” See also the gracious invitation of Rev. 22:17,”…let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.”
