Mankind is in Trouble

Man born of woman is of few days and full of trouble.  He springs up like a flower adn withers away, like the fleeting shadow, he does not endure.  Job 14:1-2

Our culture tries to deny trouble and even death.  The broke are hidden away or they take themselves out of the public square.  Sexual victims early on want to hide and walk among the living with less trust in men or women.  The grotestically disfigured cover their faces or stay home.  Aids victims have become our nations perias.  When your having serious trouble people often give a tright response about God’s love and all you want to do is slap them.  They think your out of sorts is not like you and try to fix you.  All this denies we were born for trouble.  Some persons never get out of the womb alive, some children are born without brains or limbs.  Why is one girl sexually abused and another is raised by loving parents and then grows up and dies at 32 of breast cancer.

Why do I say all this?  Christians above all others can look at life as it truely is and stop pretending that everything is OK.  Its not.   This kind of thinking can side track Christians for many years.  We all die everyone of us.  Enoch and Elijah did not but they were the exception.  However, they both suffered  just like us.  I have had back and neck problems since high school and severe tendenitious in my arms and hands for several years, and couple other nagging ailments along with ALS.   I was shocked to get the ALS diagnosis but I did not think it strange.  I was planning on going out with a heart attack like the rest of the Trask’s in my extended family.

If we have been abused growing up or have suffered disease stop looking to the past and look to the Lord to rescue you from the pain and the shame.  If we trust him he will give us peace although suffering is still apart of our lives.

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord;

O Lord, hear my voice.

Let your ears be attentive  to my cry for mercy.

I you, O Lord, kept a record of sins,

O Lord who could stand?

But with you there is forgiveness therefore you are feared.

I wait  for the Lord, my soul waits,

and in his word I put my hope.

My soul waits for the Lord more than watchman wait

for the morning,

more than watchman wait for the morning.

O Israel, put your hope in the Lord,

for with the Lord is unfailing love

and with him is full redemption.

He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.
