God’s Sovereignty

When things seem to be going badly in your life look to the one who is leading your life through those hard times.  Some of us live a long life like the last I WW veteran in the UK who died at 113.  Some of die before we exit the womb.  Some us cannot find satisfying work or work that pays us enough money.  Some of us were raised by wonderful loving parents and others of us were abused and shamed.   Rulers rise to power and then they are gone replace by another.

All these occurrences are all part of God’s plan for his world and his kingdom.  My disease is part of God’s plan for me.   For he determines for each everyone of our deaths.  God is Holy, Holy, Holy and wrathful but also good that is why he sent his son to redeem us.   God’s intentions are not to harm me or you but bring us home.

Have you ever wondered the ache in each of our hearts that never goes away.  That’s the desire for a perfect place, where there is no more crying but filled with unending  joy.   God redeems some, but not all.  Why he does he do that? He does not tell us.   It is like an orphanage where a man enters and choosing only one child out of three-hundred and leaves with that one child.

I do not worry about the future because Jesus Christ holds the future in his hands and my disease fits within that plan.   His plans for my children and Debbie are good as well so I do not worry any more whether I live or die.   I cannot wait to hear the Lord’s trumpet call when he will raise us all from the dead and then Christians and faithful Jews from the past will live together within a new heaven and earth.

They will enter Zion with singing;

everlasting joy will crown their heads.

Gladness and joy will overtake them,

and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Isaiah 35:10

For I know the plans I have for you,

declares the Lord, plans to prosper you

and not to harm you, plans to give you

hope and a future.

Isaiah 29:11
