God’s Wrath Appeased

God is sovereign and good.

In Isaiah 35:4 – say to those with fearful hearts, be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance with divine retribution he will come to save you.

The Father loves his children so much he poured out his vengeance and retribution against his Son Jesus as he carried our sins on his shoulders. God the Father wreaked out his eternal wrath on his Son Jesus because he bore our sins and experienced for the first time in his eternal existence separation from his Father for us.   This act on our behalf halted for ever God’s wrath against us and gave us  Jesus’ perfect righteousness.   We can now approach His throne in prayer.

Therefore –

Because God has said, I will never leave you or forsake you.  So we say with confidence, The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.  What can man to do me?  Hebrews 13:5b-6

!Worship the Lord with me!

Praise God in his sanctuary; Praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power;  praise him for his surpassing greatness.

Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and the lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord.          Psalm 150

Thank you Jesus!

    Paul,

I will be preaching on the wrath of God this Sunday and would appreciate your prayers. Revelation 6:16 speaks of ‘the wrath of the Lamb’ which seems to be an incongruous statement but it is true.

Dick, God’s wrath is an expression of his love as well.
